Instructor led classes run weekly to suit all ages and abilities. Beginners are welcome to most classes but suitability for a class is based on age, knowledge and experience. The category of classes below is a good indicator of where a student will fit, but we maintain an element of flexibility. If you are considering starting Tae Kwon-Do for the first time, or are new to Chard, please contact us to arrange a suitable class. Existing students should ask their instructor before attending a new class.


Ninjas

Chard Tae Kwon-Do - Ninja Skillz
Age Ranges
  • Early: 3-4 years
  • Basic 5-6 years
  • Core 7-10 years

Early Development: Our program is designed to nurture physical and cognitive development in our youngest martial artists. Ninja skills classes incorporate movement, coordination, and basic martial arts techniques in a fun and engaging way.

Confidence Boost: Watch your little ninjas blossom as they gain confidence through each new skill they master. Our positive and supportive environment encourages them to express themselves and take on new challenges.

Discipline in Disguise: The fundamentals of martial arts are seamlessly woven into activities, teaching kids important values like respect, focus, and self-discipline. Plus, they won't even realise they're learning valuable life skills!

Social Interaction: Ninja Skills is more than just a class, it's a community. Little ones make friends, share giggles, and develop social skills in a safe and encouraging setting.


Juniors

Chard Tae Kwon-Do - Junior classes
Primary school ages 7 to 11 yrs

Improve fitness, sharpen focus and increase self-esteem while making new friends and having fun. Classes are well structured, with the same syllabus taught to children as it is to adults, just in a different manner. Setting goals and being rewarded for achieving them, gives students a great boost, and is core to the success of Tae Kwon-Do. Combining physical skills such as balance, strength and coordination, with discipline, social interaction and a knowledge of basic self-defence, students are provided with all the skills they need to feel confident in any area of life.


Cadets

Chard Tae Kwon-Do - Cadet classes
Secondary school ages

Tailored towards teens high energy levels and ability to learn quickly, cadet classes offer students a great release from the pressures of life. Fun, fast pace classes, include extensive pad work, sparring and destruction. Many of our cadets enrol in the Duke of Edinburgh award and include Tae Kwon-Do achievements on their C.V.s


Adults

Chard Tae Kwon-Do - Adult classes
18+

Whether you are new to Tae Kwon-Do, or have trained with another club, our adult classes are great for keeping fit, self-defence and socialising. Every student is treated as an individual with their own goals. With motivation from instructors and other members, all students are encouraged to share in each other's personal achievements. We train hard, but we're a friendly bunch and have lots of fun.


Family

The structure of our classes means we can teach a range of ages and abilities simultaneously. For those with busy lives this provides a time efficient opportunity to share a hobby and spend quality time together. Parents and children, or siblings who train together, will also benefit from our special family discounts. We are proud that many of our students encourage other family members to get involved.

Warrior Girlz

Self-Defence Empowerment:Equip girls with practical self-defence techniques that build confidence and awareness. Our program focuses on realistic scenarios, teaching valuable skills that can be applied in everyday situations.

Physical Fitness: Engage in a fun and dynamic workout that combines cardiovascular exercises with the powerful moves of pad work. It's a fantastic way for girls to enhance their strength, stamina, and overall physical fitness.

Physical Fitness: Our Fitness Pad work classes offer a healthy outlet for stress and frustration. It's not just a workout; it's a way to release energy and leave each session feeling refreshed and empowered.
